One a Year?!

Last weekend when we went to Vegas, B and I had Front Row seating to:

-Starring:

-I have loved her since I first "met" her on The Girls Next Door.
-B has always had equal admiration for the Blonde Bombshell.

I mean, let's face it, She's Beautiful Y'all!

NEVER did I think I would actually have the chance to meet her though.

Rewind 1 year:

While on a weekend trip to Biloxi, Mississippi, B and I were hanging out at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino late night and spotted Randy Couture. So we went over and met him:
(poor picture quality courtesy of a camera phone @ 3am)

and ended up buying him some drinks and taking a shot with him. That was pretty cool, but I must admit, though I knew who he was, I didn't Really KNOW who he was.

Back to the Present:

After Our Wedding, we went and ate at the Bellagio (Delicious!!) and then headed on over to Planet Hollywood for the show.

(Why I didn't realize (especially from the title) that this was indeed a "peep show" beforehand is beyond me, but luckily I am good for surprises of this kind.)

By this point, all of this "surprising" was too much excitement and before I knew it, the show was on!

Holly wasn't in the show as much as we thought she would be until towards the end, when she really was ALL in the show. B didn't think the show was as spectacular as it had been played up to be, but it was, a true Vegas show. And the First Vegas show He or I had ever seen.

So, after it ended we were told to stay in our seats until the theatre had cleared out and then all 20 or so of us were moved to another section to sit together.

They passed out champagne and when she walked out, we had a toast together. Then she had each person individually come down to her.

B and I were unaware of how all of this was going to go on and ended up sitting almost at the dead end of the line, so when it was our turn, reasonably so, she was a little worn out.

But that's okay, We were FACE TO FACE with Holly Madison!!

We had decided right before meeting her that since we didn't bring extra stuff for her to sign, I would ask her to sign the picture she was giving us, to us and he would ask her to sign his to the girls. I was a little star struck myself, but I told her that we had just gotten married earlier that day and asked her to sign my picture to B and I.

She was just as Beautiful as you see her on t.v., her voice sounded just the same, it was kinda weird actually. I feel staker-esqe even saying that. But, it's true.

It was an awesome wedding present/surprise that I will never forget!

B said he wasn't nervous when we got up there to meet her, his individual picture with her says otherwise. I wish I could have taken another for him but our time was limited. :)

So now, at a rate of 1 celebrity a year, I wonder who it'll be next year?! jk ;)

Awesome.

This past weekend, Mr. G had quite the surprise for me!

I originally thought we were going camping.

We were actually going to Vegas!

I also thought the purpose of our trip was to go see Holly Madison's Peep show and Meet her afterwards (which was amazing).

But, the REAL purpose of our trip.....

Was WE WERE GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't be happier!

Maybe most girls don't dream of their wedding being a total surprise to them but, to me, it was absolutely PERFECT. The most important thing was that we were happy and ready to take the next step. I didn't need a fancy dress, a big cake, tons of flowers, or the perfect reception to welcome our lives together, I just needed HIM.

It was Small. Intimate. Awesome.

We were married at The (world famous) Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas.

Just He and I, The Preacher and Organist.

A pretty bouquet with White Roses, matching boutonniere, a garter, and US.

Sure, we would have loved to have the handful of people we Cherish the most to be there in support of our union, but we were really ready for this next step.

And since we do want the girls to be a part of it (as we believe that this is also our family's union), we planned to have another wedding, (dress, cake and reception included) in Mexico as we had originally planned, so the girls can be flower girls and people can be there, but, we are VERY HAPPY with our decision.

Over the Moon.

And, who wouldnt be with this Ultra Handsome man as their Husband?!?!

and, BTW, I would love to pay someone edit all of our favorite pictures from the big day, as I don't currently have a photoshop type program to do this with. (I am hoping this is in the cards for mothers day:) ::fingers crossed:: ) But for now, if you know someone, please let me know! Thanks!

Y'all have a Great Day!

Ps. I will be doing a separate post on meeting Holly Madison later, for now I'm off to buy my New Husband a wedding band:)

Mini Me

Once or twice a week, I do a "Full Clean" of my house where I try to really clean everything that I can aside from the day-to-day cleaning. I Mop ALL the tile, Clean the Kitchen Really good, the bathrooms ect.

My kids usually come home on said days and make ramen noodles (all by themselves) decide that the living room is a great place to set up a daycare for their babies, change their clothes 10 times and so on.

This drives me cuh-razy! I spend the second half of my day following them around re-cleaning counter tops, and "motivating" them to clean up and hang up things that have no purpose being out or washed again as they quickly move on to a new activity forgetting they got all of this stuff out in the first place.

Normal Kid Stuff I guess.

Last night as I was cooking dinner Haidyn decided, without prompting, that she wanted to clean the kitchen sink. She got the sponge and started scrubbing away! I was so proud!

So, after I finished cutting the tomato, I dumped all the seeds in the sink, and as not to get in her way, I waited for her to wash them down the drain.

"MOM!" she screached, "I JUST cleaned that! Why did you put that in my clean sink?!"

All I could do was laugh.

I "Heart" Thursday #3

I am participating in this weeks I "heart"... at You and Me Plus Three. Go there now to add yours and read others!!

I have SOOOO many things to be thankful for!! Here are just a few...

I 'Heart"... The path my life has taken (especially the last year and a half) and how much I feel that I've grown, as a person AND a Mommy, and where i am at (mentally) now.

I "Heart"...all of the quality time B and I spent over Spring break (I'll post on that later), and knowing there is no other place I'd rather be.

I "Heart"...the Mother/Daughter time HK and I have gotten to spend the last 2 days with her being home. (though I'd rather her not be sick)

I "Heart"...being on the road to having an answer to HK's stomach issues AND a Medicine that lets her eat...WITH NO PAIN!

I "Heart"...SUNSHINE! (pretty sure I have said this every time, but I really really do love the way sunshine can "brighten" my day ;)

I "Heart"...Being able to stay home and take care of my family. When i was a little girl and people would ask what I wanted to be "when I grow up" I would always say "A Mommy"

I "Heart"...growing closer to B everyday. It's Awesome.

I "Heart"...learning how to do my lil one's hair so many different ways. I hope she lets me "play" with her hair for years to come...

Spring Break March 13- 21, 2010

Spring Break was a little different this year. Christian went to her Mom's in Oklahoma and Haidyn went to her Dad's house for the week. So, B and I got our own "spring break" and we had So Much Fun!

It started on Saturday morning when we took C to the airport and, to our surprise, there was a line like we have never seen before. So, two hours and a missed flight later, we were taking her to board her replacement flight. She was excited to go see her Mom, little Brother and Sister, and everyone up there that she hadn't seen since Christmas.

Then, on to the auction we went, mostly for B to be at the auction, but partly because the caterer there has WONDERFUL barbecue! YUM-O. :) and then of course after all that delicious barbecue we needed a nap. So we came home, took a nap, and decided to leave early for Arkansas (which we had planned to leave for on Sunday) and drive to Oklahoma, find a casino and play a little bit, stay the night there, and drive the remaining 3.5 or so hours to Arkansas on Sunday.

So we packed our bags and took off around 6:30pm, and arrived in OK around 12:30 or so, stopping at the first big casino we saw. They had a reasonable nightly rate, but no vacancy. This turned out to be a good thing as we parked, went inside and found that they only had one of each table game that we wanted to play AND they were both FULL with people waiting to play. No Thanks. So on down the road we went. We found a hotel (with a better nightly rate) and a "Waffle Shoppe" in the same parking lot! So we got a room, and went on to get us some breakfast. As anyone could guess, the crowd was like any 24 hour breakfast place around 1 AM that you would find. We ate. We Laughed. And, we got out of there.

Sunday morning we got back on the road to Arkansas. We stopped and got some Summer sausage for B's Uncle that we had originally wanted to get, way back in Texas. So we got to Uncle James' talked for a while and went to eat at Outback Steakhouse. Yum. i later on found out this was a very interesting "dinner". Anyway, He let us stay in his cabin that night and we got up Monday morning and shopped around his place, (went in the bridal store and i politely looked around, but was definitely not trying anything on -especially with B IN THE STORE!)

On to Branson, MO we went on a spontaneous adventure to see what we could find. And, thanks to the navigation in B's Truck, we took the scenic route, it was a Beautiful drive. We stopped along the way at this awesome spot that people were fishing along...

And then we were back on the road...

I Love this picture partially because B looks like such the serious driver, but mainly because you can see the forest behind us in the rear view mirror!

Monday afternoon we finally made it to Branson and wanted to make the most of it because we could only stay one night. So we got a hotel, found and booked a show to go see that night and headed out sightseeing. After deciding we were definitely going back in the summer with the kids, and driving all over the place we found a Mexican restaurant that looked good and had some yummy fajitas. Then we went to see the "Acrobats of China". Oh My Gosh. Amazing. The show was so good, and it was a 2 hour show, with probably 15 acrobats total. They were awesome.

Tuesday Morning, we headed downstairs to eat our "free" continental breakfast and then on to the Outlet Mall we went. We unleashed ourselves on Ralph Lauren and American Eagle (separately) for and hour and then it was back on the road. This time, the road led us home.

B isn't in love with taking pictures, so i like to sneak them sometimes ;)

We Stopped at this Restaurant/Store/Furniture Shop in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas on the way home by Recommendation of a Good Friend, and My their Food was GOOD! Really Good.

11 or 12 hours later (i lost track) we arrived home to these little guys...

Bitsy

Penny and Buster

This is my Dad's puppy Buster. We watched him over spring break and i couldn't help but take all kinds of pictures of him. His little personality is just so so cute to me!

...Bitsy didn't agree though, he stole her bed for the duration of his visit.

On Wednesday B and I went to the Rodeo to see Gary Allen, I was hoping they would have green beer, being it was St. Patricks day and all, but no such luck. We did have fun though!

Thursday. Night. We. Rested.

Friday night we went to see our favorite bartender at the pub down the street.

Saturday Morning we went to see Haidyn play in her "pool games" for the tournament she was playing in (which later got rained out) and then we had tickets to go see the Drag Races in Baytown. Sounded like a lot of fun, Only problem is, we got there, paid $25 for parking, went to walk in and everyone was walking towards us. leaving. all the cars were being put up. the races had JUST been cancelled due to the oncoming rain storm. and we now had to leave as well. So we went and drowned our racing sorrows at Red Lobster and spent the rest of the day/night at home. I LOVE quality time with B.

Sunday Night, Christian returned home, and life was back to semi-normal, and the fairytale week was over. I'm so thankful we had it though. I Love my kids. But, I am so glad we are so blessed as to have our "Own Time" together every now and then. I've NEVER had such a strong Bond/LOVE/Best Friend relationship and I can't get enough :)

Frugal Friday :)

I finally made it to Burke's Outlet this morning, and here are some of my Favorite purchases...

Way Cute Sandals $9.99

Set of 3 Ceramic mixing bowls...Originally $9.99, I Paid $0.50!!

I'm actually going to use the smaller two as decor around the house once i find something to put in them.

This is the "powder room" (guest bath) and I got all this stuff for under $30! There is also a little sign that you can't see that reads "Home is...Where Memories are Made"

LOVE this Key. It was the only one in the store and didn't have a price tag so after some confusion on why I couldn't buy it due to a language barrier between the cashier and I, I went and found something similar and ended up getting it for $3.99! Score!

This Coffee Table Book was originally $3.00, but I got it for (get this) $0.15!

I usually have jewelry all over the place around my sink, so I go this little treasure chest ($3.00) to consolidate, and this Picture Frame for $4.00! (The tiara is from my pageant days, and is now only worn for cleaning days)

These Great candles were $3.00 a piece (original prices $8 to $10) AND they smell soooo yummy!

This is on my mantle, The candle was $6.00 (from $20) and it's actually sitting on a plate that I found for $2.00, I think it makes a great combo and who cares if it's "suppose" to be a plate.

I will forever be grateful for the frugal shopping lessons I learned throughout my life from this AMAZING WOMAN...

Though I miss my Mom dearly, I cherish every moment I spent with her and ALL of the "all day shopping extravaganzas" we had together seeking out the best deals we could find and of course, decorating a new house. She had a 6th sense for Fashion and decorating, and Hopefully one day my daughter can say the same for me. :)
